I've been meaning to posted about this new site for awhile. Jon Boilard is a short story author. He approached me to redesign his website after seeing another website I designed for author Manuel Munoz. It was a pleasure to work with Jon who happens to live on the other side of the country, yet grew up a town away from where I was raised. Certainly a small world.

Sweater for Evan
It had been a while since I knitted something with a purpose. I've mostly been working on my crazy blanket (photos soon) but when I received a recent issue of Knit1 magazine, I had to knit up this hooded sweater for my nephew. I had already made my nephew Garrett a sweater vest when he was younger, but Evan only got a blanket...So I was inspired, and here's the result. What a cutie! (The sweater and Evan!)

Morgan is home!

Morgan has been home with us for a week now. About 2 weeks before we expected him. I guess you never really know! He's adjusting well to his new "flock" and enjoys his naps as you can see in this photo.
And here's a short video of him enjoying his first bath. From now on, he will be taking his baths in the sink.

Soapbox - Load Time
ok, rarely do I visit a site the bothers me so much that I feel the need to preach. When designing a site, there are certain things that I try to advise against for one main reason. Load time. If someone visiting your site needs to wait for even a couple seconds to see what you have to offer or what you are all about, they won't.
In a photography magazine, I came across a screen shot of a very clean and simple designed site. I visited the site and the design quickly fell apart as I had to wait for each image to load.
If you want to visit the site, go to http://www.dolgachov.com/">www.dolgachov.com. (Disclaimer: The photography is a Playboy photographer, subject matter may offend some people.)

Meet Morgan!
Back a few posts in September, I mentioned the passing of our parakeet of 9 years, Astor. Now I get to pass on much happier news and introduce you to the new member of our family! Morgan!
Morgan is a Black-Capped Conure, which is a type of parrot. He (could
be a she) was hatched on November 2nd, which makes him just over 7
weeks old. The attached photo was taken a week ago during our visit with
him. It will still be another 5-6 weeks before he's old enough to come
home with us, after all he's barely just getting his feathers in!
We couldn't be happier!

Carnicelli Literary Management

I recently finished up a new project for Matthew Carnicelli, founder of Carnicelli Literary Management. He did not have an existing website, and needed something to showcase his clients. Matthew gave me creative freedom on the initial design. The end result was a collaborative effort, and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Check out his site at carnicellilit.com
